Sacrament preparation can occur at any time in life, not just infancy and childhood. Catechists are individuals who teach and share the Catholic faith with others, typically in a parish or school setting. They guide individuals, both children and adults, in understanding and living out the teachings of the Church, often preparing them for sacraments like Baptism and Confirmation. Catechists are essentially educators of the Faith, helping others develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The OCIA Ministry is always looking for Catechists to guide our Catechumens and Candidates and prepare them for the Sacraments. Training is provided.

For more information, or if you're interested in becoming a Catechist or a sponsor for a prospective Catechumen, please call our Parish Office (925) 939-7911, ext. 0.
