Dear Sisters and Brothers,
The Vacation Bible Camp that kids and teens and their families look forward to all year long stands as a testament to the care, love and hard work of both teen and adult counselors, as well as the entire staff who spent several weeks —if not months— planning and preparing for them . Their unwavering commitment to creating a nurturing environment allows children and teens to explore their faith in a fun and engaging way. Through interactive lessons, crafts, and activities, these counselors and staff not only share the teachings of Christ but also embody His love and compassion. Their enthusiasm and genuine care for each camper foster an atmosphere where kids feel safe to ask questions, share experiences, and grow spiritually. It’s this passion that truly transforms the camp into a memorable experience that can shape their faith journeys.
Moreover, the collaborative efforts of the staff exemplify the power of teamwork in ministry. Each member brings unique talents and insights, working harmoniously to ensure that every detail is thoughtfully addressed—from planning engaging activities to providing spiritual guidance. This collective effort creates a vibrant community where everyone is encouraged to participate and get “to know and love Christ and make him better known”. Moreover, the bonds formed during this camp not only enhance the children’s understanding of their faith but also instill a sense of belonging to the parish community that can last well beyond the event.
As we celebrate the success of this year’s camp, it’s essential to remind parents that they hold the primary role in nurturing their children’s faith. While our dedicated counselors and staff provide valuable guidance, parents are the first and most influential faith formators in their children’s lives. Encouraging discussions about what they learned at camp and reinforcing those teachings at home can make a significant impact. By working together, parents and counselors can create a strong foundation for a lifelong relationship with Christ, helping kids not only to know Him but to love and share Him with others.
And yes, don’t forget “thank you” notes to our staff for their commitment to our children and our parish communities.
With prayerful wishes and blessings,
Fr. William Rosario
Pastor
