CYO Basketball is a good vehicle for boys and girls in the Parish in both Public and Parochial schools to get to know each other, and participate in a traditional organized sports program, with a special emphasis on Catholic values. The program is conducted in an atmosphere of fairness and sportsmanship in a competitive environment on the court.

The program is open to both boys and girls, in grades 2 through 8. Participants must either live within the parish boundaries, or attend Faith Formation classes at the Parish. Participants need not be catholic. Games begin in November.

Generally, basketball evaluations are held in September, practices start late September/early October and the season begins in November.

Pastor's Corner

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

It has been brought to my attention that a fraudulent email, created in my name - that is asking for a favor (and for iTunes cards) is being sent out to some of you what are on our database. If you received or receive one such email with a request to do some favor, kindly know that it’s not from me or from our staff. Our staff and I do not ask for any favors other than that you come to  our Church and fall in love with God.

Here’s a simple test (thanks to Adrian D’ Souza) that will expose up fraudulent phishing -  Before you open e-mails, just run your cursor over the sendor name in your in-box list of e-mails. This will show the real e-mail of those who sent it. If it does not show as frwilliam@sjvianney.org, it is fraud.

If you responded to any such email, kindly be cautious in the future. It doesn’t hurt to call me or the parish office and check the truthfulness of such emails.

If you responded positively to any such email, I’m sorry that your good will has been exploited. Thanks for your love and care.

Fr. William Rosario
