Bible Study

 Bible Study

St John Vianney parish offers several forms of Bible Study.  They take place in the evening in the Mullen Commons Vista Room and/or the downstairs classrooms.  These studies are open to all parishioners and to the surrounding communities.

1. We present a lecture series usually on one book of the Bible.  These lectures have been very well received by the parish community and the community at large.  A free will donation is accepted at all sessions.

2. Another form of Bible Study is a small group format that includes outside reading using a scripture study book.  Participants pay for the cost of materials and meet once a week for about 6 weeks, usually in the late spring months.  They discuss the week’s lesson in small groups with a group facilitator.  The groups gather together for opening remarks and a closing prayer time.  The theme of the study is usually determined by the parish catechetical theme for the year.

3. At the discretion of the planning committee and staff, other series by outside speakers may be offered during particular seasons of the year such as Advent or Lent. Please check this website for upcoming events.
